PALM TREE NURSERY

In 2023, we acquired a palm tree nursery and environmental learning space in Indian River County. The property offers abundant opportunities and career pathways for teens and young adults to learn transferable skills or embark on a career in horticulture, landscaping, and more.

We specialize in Phoenix sylvestris, also known as the wild date palm or silver date palm, commonly referred to as “Florida Fancy” palms. These tall, single-stemmed palms can grow up to 30 meters in height, with distinctive silver-gray trunks and large, feather-like, green leaves. The property serves as an ornamental plant resource and supports landscaping and construction needs.

Supporting our mission, all revenue from palm tree sales contributes to programming in Indian River County. With over 250 palm trees available, including individual trees ranging from 3 feet to over 20 feet tall, gorgeous pairings, and mature sets of three palms, we offer them at 40-60% below market value.

Visitors are invited to walk our beautiful property, choose their tree(s), and know that their purchase is helping to move young lives forward!

In the nursery, various roles contribute to its operation. As of now, we have a Nursery Manager that oversees all operations, including staff, schedules, inventory, sales, and customer service. Our junior horticulturist cares for and maintains the palm trees, handling tasks like fertilizing, pruning, and pest control to ensure healthy and quality trees. Our Propagator is responsible for propagating new palm trees from seeds or cuttings, ensuring proper planting and initial care for sustainable growth. Regular watering and fertilization are crucial for healthy development.

We hope to hire a driver/transporter in 2024 as the sales of the trees increase.

In addition to the nursery, the property boasts a beautiful home that can be utilized for retreats, workshops, professional development activations, and more. This space enhances our commitment to providing diverse and enriching experiences for our community.
