GINA ENJOLI RUSSELL

Visual Artist

My name is Gina Russell and as far back as I can remember, I have loved art. My pieces have been used in school art showcases throughout grade school. When I was 15 I became very active in the Indianapolis graffiti scene. My senior year of high school I was in a college level commercial art class in preparation for graphic design school in Chicago after graduation. I went to the International Academy of Merchandising and Design from 1999-2001, while also becoming very active in the Chicago graffiti scene. After returning from Chicago in 2001 I attended Herron School of Art Saturday school to dig deeper into the graphic design world. I have been doing freelance design work since, but my heart has always been graffiti art. In 2007-08 I did an after school graffiti class at Rhodius Park in downtown Indianapolis as part of a hip hop workshop once a week. Life happened and 2009-2018 I took some time away to raise my kids. In 2018 I was asked to do graffiti boot camp as part of a summer hip hop camp at 31SVN Street Dance Academy. From this camp developed a beautiful partnership at 31SVN, and from 2018-2022 I had my very own weekly Graffiti 101 classes, private sessions, and mural jobs all over Indianapolis. The summer of 2022 I moved to Florida to help my aunt with her estate after my uncle passed away. Saddened that I left my position with 31SVN, and a well established home organization business, I just knew something amazing was waiting for me in Florida. Here I am loving my position, and excited for my future at The Motivational Edge.
