Transition to Adulthood Program (TAP)

Empowering Teens. Unlocking Futures.

The Motivational Edge’s Transition to Adulthood Program (TAP) equips high-risk youth—especially those ages 16 to 21—with the tools, skills, and support needed to thrive as independent, purpose-driven adults.

Led by Mike Williams, our Vice President of TAP and a proud alumnus of Florida’s foster care system, the program is rooted in both professional expertise and lived experience. Mike brings passion, credibility, and a deep understanding of the barriers our youth face—ensuring that every aspect of TAP is authentic, intentional, and transformational.

Core Components of TAP

  • Career Readiness: Resume building, job search support, interview prep, and workplace expectations.
  • Financial Literacy: Budgeting, banking basics, credit education, and income planning.
  • Life & Wellness Skills: Cooking, time management, personal hygiene, and mental health support.
  • Mentorship & Coaching: Consistent, caring adults to guide, encourage, and advocate.
  • Education Navigation: Support with GED, diploma programs, vocational training, and post-secondary pathways.

Why TAP Matters

Too many young people reach adulthood without the skills, resources, or safety net they need. TAP ensures they don’t have to figure it out alone. With personalized guidance and experiential learning, participants gain confidence, build stability, and make empowered decisions for their futures.

“We don’t just help youth survive—we help them design lives they’re proud of.”
