Hillsborough PR Release

The Motivational Edge has entered into an annual contract with Hillsborough County Children’s Services through 2018. The contract, which was voted on and executed by the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners in March, will have our organization working directly with the Department of Children and Youth Services at a residential treatment facility for runaway children and those with severe emotional issues.

Children in Hillsborough County’s residential program ranges from 10-17 years old, and are facing a array of issues including homelessness, grief and loss, domestic violence and/or behavioral problems.  During their stay, youth receive psychological assessments, counseling and educational support. Our programming and teaching artists will engage these youth that have had adverse childhood experiences in trauma healing through the arts, mentoring and much needed life-skill development.
